Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Borneo-Rainforest-Lodge.jpgThe Borneo Rainforest Lodge is strategically located in the heart of the Danum Valley Conservation Area, which has one of the richest terrestrial flora and fauna in the world. There are over 320 species of tree found in just one hectare of jungle, growing up to 50 meters tall with their huge buttress roots. The fauna is not less impressive, with many rare and endangered animals among its habitants. Borneo Rainforest Lodge is a paradise for bird watchers, with more than 300 species of bird recorded so far. Encounters with mouse deer, lizards, butterflies and several species of monkeys are quite common. Guest can frequently see our distant cousins, the orang-utan, and even groups of elephants roaming around in the jungle. In the morning one might be awakened by the haunting calls of the Borneo Gibbon. If you are planning a relaxing and close to nature vacation, come and experience the sounds and sights of the tropical lowland rainforest at its best.

The Borneo Rainforest Lodge has 24 chalets that house 31 twin-sharing rooms. These chalets are designed like local village houses on stilts. They are made of Belian (sp.) (also known as Ulin or Ironwood) and stones from the nearby rivers. The main building has a spacious lobby-dining area and bar that overlooks the forest is the ideal place to have your meals and compare notes on the day's findings.
