Gayana Eco Resort

Gayana-Eco-Resort.jpgGayana Eco Resort, located on Gaya Island, one of the five islands that make up the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, is only 20 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city. Newly refurbished this resort is set in an idyllic bay and features tasteful over-water bungalows, with a style reminiscent of the Maldives, and an array of facilities such as spa centre and an infinity pool with superb views of the ocean.

There are 22 semi-detached chalets featuring 44 spacious rooms, all located over water. Each room features a balcony, large bathroom, mini bar, king or twin beds, LCD televisions and DVD players. Some villas also have steps going directly from the balcony and into the sea.

The resort offers guided kayak trips and nature tours, and is also home to a marine ecology research centre which works to preserve the giant clams surrounding the coral reef.

The resort's cafe sits beside the infinity pool and offers cocktails, cool drinks and lunch specialties, including pizzas from a wood fired oven. The Alu-Alu restaurant, an over-water restaurant, serves seafood and has over 15 display tanks of live seafood such as coral trout, giant lobsters, prawns and snapper.
